Houston Hobby is the original airport that serviced Houston Texas and was established in the early 1940’s. The memorabilia and artifacts are astounding. A rich treasure of vintage planes signs and tons of pictures. The plane illustrated here is a 1940’s Lockheed Constellation pictured in front of the original tower at Houston Hobby. As an aviation buff, this was a dream job. They wheeled the plane out for me to photograph for reference and I got invited to come aboard and sit in the captain’s seat. A real treat! The original illustration was used as cover art for their free handout pamphlets. I thought it would look great as a vintage travel poster too.
